I have been wanting to do this for YEARS…blend video clips and still images. It’s not a groundbreaking new invention, and I’m not even great at it yet, but this is my very first experiment. ta-da! Thanks to Jen T and baby Oliver for playing along, and to my assistant Carly for helping with the video recording.

She calls the willow a “girl tree” because it has long hair.
She will only wear dresses and skirts.

Holy buckets.

I would love to show you everything we’ve been up to lately, but the closest I’m going to get is doing a few mega-blog posts. This is a collection of images from 2 mini session dates we had this fall. They were one week apart. Week 1: 60 degrees and sunny. Week 2: sleet. That’s MN for you. We were able to head back into the studio for the baby sessions, but everyone else braved the weather. You probably can’t tell which ones were on the sleet day, can you?

I see, you’re wondering, “What, exactly is a MINI SESSION?” Well, it’s basically a quick version of our portrait sessions. Sometimes you don’t need a whole hour of variety; you just need to update your family photos with some great, professional shots. We schedule a few dates per year and offer 20-30 minute quick sessions (for small groups only) as an option for our clients. We pick a spot and shoot several sessions, back to back.

Mini session dates tend to sell out quickly.

*The 5×7 folio is a high quality folder, containing your two favorites images for gift giving. Silk, leather and metallic covers available.

You will be able to order more prints, albums and other products after the holidays, (chances are you will have many more than 2 favorites!) but this is what we can guarantee to have ready for you by Christmas. Let’s just call it “a taste of what’s to come!”

Space is very limited! (Don’t be fooled by the number of times listed; the session + styling can take up to 3 hours, so we actually only have about 5 spots we can fill.)

Want more info? Ok, here’s how this will work.

Booking: Reserve your spot by clicking the link above. We will contact you within 24-48 hours with more information; directions, what to bring, tips on preparing, etc.

Ordering: You will choose your folio cover at your session. You will receive a proofing gallery online within 3 days, and you will be able to submit your favorites for your folio via the site. We will keep your image files for an additional 3 months, so that you can come in after the holidays if you would like to see more albums and other product options and order anything else. (There is no obligation to do this.) We must have your selections by December 10th in order to prepare your gift in time for Christmas. Your images will then be fully retouched and we will order your product and ship it directly to you. The package will not give away your surprise! It will be unbranded.

The Shoot: After your styling (which will be on-site,) we will discuss your ideas and vision for your shoot, look over your outfit(s,) and get shooting! The photographer is Jen Wheeler, along with a female lighting assistant who specializes in our boudoir shoots. The session will be otherwise private. You will get plenty of instruction and guidance on posing, etc. and it will be FUN!!! Promise.
