What is your style/approach?
We hope that our style is evident by the many samples on this blog and on our website, www.serendipityphoto.com.
We have a classic, yet artistic style. We love the idea of creating art for your walls that happens to have you in it. Most importantly, we want your grandchildren to be able to look at your photos and know how you felt at the moment each one was taken. Our goal is to create a timeless documentary of your wedding. We DO include a few set up, posed family and wedding party shots, according to your specifications, but we are not particularly traditional; we do not bring backdrops or set up a lot of “smile at the camera” shots.
We are also not particularly trendy. While we love and admire the work of many photographers with a more fashion-y or edgy approach, it’s just not our approach, for the most part. We don’t want your pictures to look cheesy and outdated when the trends change in a few years.
How do I book you for my date?
A signed contract and a retainer for 1/3 of the collection price is due at the time of booking. There will be 2 more payments due before the wedding, in 1/3 increments.
How does the pricing work; do I add the lead rate to the associate rate for the total?
No. The rate you see IS the total. All of our collections except for “Simple” include 2 photographers. The rates you see are for the lead + an associate photographer.
What does associate photographer mean?
The associates are our assistant photographers. We (almost) always work in teams of 2, and our associates have been carefully selected to offer a second perspective to the lead photographer’s coverage. Our associates are available to be booked as your primary photographer, at a lower price point than Jen or Jen. We only choose associates that can provide work that we can confidently put the Serendipity name on. You can also book our associates with simpler packages through our sister studio, 1 Fine Day.
How many pages are in the included album?
Usually 20-30, but we don’t charge or design by the page, we charge by the image. Reason being, we individually retouch every image in the album, and want to keep the layout clean and professional. If we charged by the page, some albums would end up with 50 pictures crammed on one page!
Can I purchase additional parent albums or add more pictures to my album?
Yes, and we offer great deals to purchase duplicate copies at the same time. You can also apply the value of the included album towards any other album that appeals to you more. Everything we do is custom designed and hand selected for our clients. We love to suggest the perfect album for you. Chances are, it will be an album you didn’t even know existed!
Do you bring backup equipment?
Always.
Do you require a meal?
No, but we really appreciate it. Shooting your wedding is hard work, and we will be hungry.
